Zingen Far Sholem, Singing for Peace, is a Yiddish community chorus that meets at the Silverlake Independent JCC, 3 Tuesdays a month from 7:30 to 9pm.

The ability to read music is not required as long as you can learn by ear. Speaking Yiddish is not a prerequisite either. Members receive recordings of each song to practice on their own, and we make time each week to go over pronunciation and translation of each piece.

Zingen Far Sholem is a welcoming bunch of people so visit, give a listen, and we hope you’ll want to stay and sing!  For more information, please contact the chorus manager, Anne Kaufman, annekaufman@sbcglobal.net.
